Becoming Catholic - OCIA

As you know, times have been crazy these last few years. Sometimes, we question what is even right and wrong, but fortunately Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Now is a good time to get right with God, and find out what He wants for your life. We can start with entry into the Catholic Church through Baptism, learning the faith and confirmation.

Our 2024-25 OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) program, has already started and it is not too late to join. If you are 14 years or older and would like to know more about how to enter the Catholic Church or complete your confirmation, please contact Michael Faber at mfaber@elkgrove.net, or call him at (916)719—5565 to learn how you can start the process this year.

Have you ever...

  • Felt you were meant for more or that something was missing in your life?

  • Been curious about the Catholic way of life?

  • Are you an adult who has not been Baptized, received the Sacrament of Confirmation and/or First Holy Eucharist?

If you said "yes" to any of these, now is an excellent time to begin attending our Sunday morning Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) classes.  If you wish to learn about the Catholic faith with the possibility of joining the Church, we welcome you!  OCIA is a gradual process of Christian formation and our structure is "open-ended" enabling those interested to begin at any time.

Please join us on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. in the St. Jude Room

Please Note:  You do not need to have made the decision to become Catholic to start.  The first phase of OCIA is called Inquiry!  This period is your chance to have your questions answered and begin to gain an understanding of what it means to be Catholic.  You only need a commitment to be open to the experience which will allow you to make your decision about becoming Catholic later.
