Cursillo… A short course in Christianity that lasts a lifetime!

Cursillo is a worldwide, Christian movement that started in Spain in the 1940's. Over 3 million Catholics have attended a “weekend” and participate in the 4th Day, representing the rest of your life. Many other movements started and are patterned after Cursillo such as Engaged and Marriage Encounter, high school Kairos and Road to Emmaus.  It is based on three foundations; Piety, Study and Action. Interested Catholics are sponsored for a weekend of learning, friendship prayer, song and worship. Then “Cursillistas” are encouraged to join a group reunion to continue on their journey with Christ. St Mel has a vibrant and active group of men and women who are involved in many parish ministries and meet weekly to continue on the journey with Christ and each other.
