Father's Monday Night Inquiry Classes

This program offers adult catechesis.  It covers the sacraments, precepts of the church, the Creed, and many other important subjects covered in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  If you are in the R.C.I.A. Program, you will be attending Father's class.  Classes are held in the Rectory Conference Room in the upper parking lot at the Sunset Avenue entrance.  Classes are held from 7:00PM-8:00PM.  Contact the Parish Office at (916)967-1229 to sign up.

R.C.I.A. - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults - (Adult Religious Education Classes)

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is for those wishing to obtain information necessary to become a member of the Catholic church.  Classes are open to both unbaptized adults and adults who are already baptized in a non-Catholic denomination.  For further information on these or other Adult Religious Education classes, please contact Katie Burke at 965-0293 or Joyce Carroll at 869-8836.  For those interested in becoming a Catechist contact Brenda McCollum at 722-1965.  If you are interested in becoming a Sponsor contact Ben Pelka at 635-2717.

Catholics Returning Home

Catholics Returning Home is an ongoing series conducted on six consecutive Tuesday evenings, three times a year.  Sessions are held in the Youth Ministry Room at 7:30 PM.  These sessions are for non-practicing Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about returning to the Church.

If you have been away from the Catholic Church and want to return, this program is for you and we invite you to join us.  If you know someone, either a friend, family member or acquaintance that has been away from the Church, invite them to join Catholics Returning Home.  Contact Paul or Stephanie Duncan at 967-8461.

Scripture Study

We have 2 studies per year -- classes are available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning or evening.  Contact Dave Murray at 338-5011. 

Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (C.C.D.)

C.C.D. is for children not attending Catholic school teaches them scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  Preparation for children making their first Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation are included in the curriculum.  These classes are offered on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.  Contact Ann Marie Moore at the C.C.D. St. Mel's Parish Library

The library is located behind the Adoration Chapel. The Parish is fortunate to have a very comprehensive library for those wishing to read about different subjects relating to our faith. ---The Library is open following each Sunday Mass.  Contact Johanna Ross at 966-5850 or Joanne Wagner at 967-0190.
